JK Sucralose Announce 300 MT Expansion
BEIJING, Mar 12, 2009 -- China's JK Sucralose Inc., the world's second largest producer of sucralose, said it would expand its manufacturing by another 300 metric tons.
The expansion follows a favorable decision in a patent infringement lawsuit, JK told a press conference Wednesday.
"Based on the fact that JK Sucralose Inc. voluntarily joined the ITC lawsuit and obtained ITC judge's initial determination that the production process of JK Sucralose Inc. does not infringe Tate & Lyle's patents and in order to meet the global market increasing demands, JK Sucralose Inc. decided to start the 300 MT Capacity Sucralose expansion project," the company said in statement.
JK currently has sucralose capacity of 800MT, but expects demand for the zero-calorie sugar substitute to increase along with demand for lower calorie food and beverages. Its sucralose is kosher and halal certified and strictly meets the FCC V, USP 30, European and Japanese specifications, the company said.
Its facilities based in Sheyang, Jiangsu Province, are GMP, HACCP and ISO 9001:2001 certified and have passed more than three third-party GMP audits in year 2008, JK said.
